i was thinking of Asian robot warriors here. i grew up on Godzilla and Japanese cartoons. those evil characters that voltron use to battle were a great inspiration.

i tried to take the 'skin-cheese' concept to the next level with the design to the left, although slightly more web-like. the one on the right is a nice twist to the traditional spiderweb design, and it works well on many places of the body.

these images are cyborg corpses. as the flesh rots away, metal, wire, and conduit is exposed from under the surface.

some things just don't have any explainable inspiration behind them. they are what they are when they come to me. the first one reminds me of that mad ball eye, and the second is simply a cyborg-like creature with a chrome skull and tube-like breathing aparatus.
