Chad Divel — The artist, the skin as a canvas...

Chad Divel has been a working tattoo and tattoo flash artist for over fifteen years. His designs pull on a unique blending of nature, technology and ancient cultural metaphors.

Divel has developed his unique artistic style and approach to creating flash art to make it usable and adaptable by other tattoo artists. You'll find deep details within each of his pieces, but know they've been rendered with putting needle and ink to skin in mind.

A majority of Divel's tattoo flash sets are available as black and gray, or color designs. although sets 1 - 4 are only available only as black and gray designs, which definitely adds to the mood and concepts within these designs. He enjoys adding various color combinations to the other sets and pages, creating new depth and/or unusual light sources that result with endless possibilities. Roll with it, and be sure to check out these designs in their black and gray versions too. A lot of these sets were designed to mimic different styles of tattooing.

Divel considers himself a new school artist. So even traditional inspired designs have a modern twist. When he started tattooing in ' 94, the tattoos were innovative, and people were pushing the envelope. This is the approach he tried to take with his designs.
